Texas Pike Honors 32 May 2021 Graduates
Texas Pike Beta Mu Chapter is pleased to salute 32 brothers who recently graduated in May 2021. The group includes three past Pike presidents and number of officers and committee chairs. These men were active across campus in professional societies, founded philanthropies, produced an award-winning RTF student film, three played Texas club lacrosse and one Silver Spur. Kudos to Corey Barker ’17 named Valedictorian by the Cockrell School of Engineering’s Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering!

- Jackson Harris ‘16 earned dual degrees, an undergraduate and a master’s in public accounting degree from the number one accounting program in the country at the McCombs School of Business. Jackson will be joining Deloitte in its audit group in Austin.

- Past Presidents Tommy Waun (BA, Economics) and Dick Sherwood (BS, Mechanical Engineering), both PC ’17, received Pike blankets in appreciation for their leadership roles from the Alumni Board.

- Many of the May 2021 grads attended a Senior Send-off luncheon held in their honor by Austin alumni. Each received a soft sided Pike golf cooler as a graduation gift.

- Matthew Stusick ’18, pictured here with UT President Jay Hartzell at graduation, earned a BA, Government and is joining Fidelity Investments in north Texas.

- Christian Gonzalez earned a BA, Government and is returning home to Houston to work in a law firm for a year before applying to law schools.
Most of the graduates are part of the Fall 2017 pledge class which will be long remembered as scholars, leaders and big contributors to Beta Mu’s Centennial year. Many of the brothers were in either the Cockrell School of Engineering or the McCombs School of Business, and the group also includes Computer Science, Economics, RTF , Plan II grads and more.
The men are joining companies like American Airlines, Deloitte, DPR Construction and Fidelity Investments, and several are headed to law and dental schools.
Austin alumni honored the grads with a Senior Sendoff Lunch May 20 and the Alumni Fund presented each senior with a Pike gift.
